Hi everyone! Happy Presidents’ Day! For those of you who are off for the holiday, I hope you are enjoying the day, and for those of you that still had work, I hope the first day of the work week went well for you too.
Ever since Valentine’s Day last week, I have been craving one of my favorite, healthier, desserts – dark chocolate covered strawberries.

However, since those would obviously not be the most nutritious option for breakfast this morning, nor did I have any on hand, I had to think of an alternative. I looked in the fridge, remembered that I did have some fresh, sweet strawberries my mother brought me this weekend, and decided it was a morning for a new recipe – Chocolate Covered Strawberry Oats!
In the mix:
- 1/2 cup gluten-free, steel-cut oats
- 1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk (although any milk of choice should work)
- 1 Tablespoon milled flax seed (optional)
- 1 1/2 Tablespoons Hershey’s Unsweetened Special Dark Cocoa (100% Cacao)
- 1 packet of Stevia
- 1 cup of fresh, sliced strawberries
This bowl was so healthy, hearty, and satisfying, and the strawberries added SO much volume!
The soft strawberries melted in my mouth and perfectly combined with the creamy, chocolaty oats. The balance of protein, complex carbs, healthy fats, and fiber kept me fuller than any other bowl of oats, and a Valentine’s Day mug filled with cranberry pomegranate tea was all I needed to round out my meal.
Question of the Day: What dessert would you eat for breakfast if you could?

I’d either have carrot cake or cinnamon rolls

Those both sound amazing! Carrot cake is by far my favorite dessert!

YUM that looks so good! I had a batch of oats this morning that ended up being a total fail.
I moved onto eggs instead lol.

Ugh
I’ve had oat overflows in the morning sometimes. Hope your eggs were good!
