Hey, hey everyone! How did today go for you? Hopefully you had a good day, but if not, just think that the weekend is just around the corner!
Last night, after a great yoga session, I wound up getting a few things done around the house, and by the time I finished and showered, I realized it was already pretty late, I hadn’t eaten dinner, and I was really hungry.
Now, as you know, I really believe in fueling my body with real, wholesome food, not food products. It is very rare that I will buy or eat a prepared food product, unless it is extremely close to homemade. Guess what? I have an AMAZING freezer find….Tabatchnick Low Sodium Split Pea Soup!
This soup is as close to something you would make in your own kitchen as you can get. It has no salt, no sugar, and it is made with high quality, natural ingredients.
Made with natural, artesian water, and no preservatives, artificial ingredients, or MSG, this company certainly lives up to its claim to making a wholesome product.
Two pouches are in each box – one pouch makes a cup or so appetizer portion, while both pouches make a nice lunch or light dinner. At only 140 calories a pouch with 0 grams of fat, 14 grams of dietary fiber, 80 mg of sodium, and 13 grams of protein, I heated up both pouches in the microwave for dinner. Plus, each pouch of soup packs a nutritional punch in regards to Vitamin A (35%) and Iron (15%)! The ingredients are stellar too…water, green split peas, carrots, onions, celery, spices, garlic, garlic powder, and xanthan gum (a thickening agent). Few ingredients, all pronounceable, AND vegan too!
Granted it is not the most attractive soup (Exorcist anyone?
), but it was extremely thick, creamy, and delicious! I loved the chunks of carrots, celery, and onions too! While I served my soup with a half of a cantaloupe, a salad would have made a great side as well.
Have a great night loves!
Question of the Day: Is there a food you love that is unattractive?

Extremely healthy, and not loaded with salt like most prepared foods!
