Brownie Batter Oats

Hello there friends!  It’s Monday aka the first day of the work week.  Mondays can certainly be a drag sometimes sooooo I decided I would post a recipe for you today that will certainly raise your spirits.  In fact, I may go so far as to say it may change your life.  Well, at least your mornings. ;)

Yesterday, being it a weekend morning, I woke up a bit later than usual, and I was craving something sweet – chocolate sweet.  With the craving in full swing I made my way down to the kitchen and came up with a bowl of oats that tastes just like hot, gooey, brownie batter.  Intrigued? What if I said these Brownie Batter Oats are also packed with nutrition? ;)

Brownie Batter Oats

In the mix:

  • 1/2 cup gluten-free, steel-cut oats
  • 1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk (although any milk of choice should work)
  • 1 Tablespoon milled flax seed (optional)
  • 1 1/2 Tablespoons Hershey’s Unsweetened Special Dark Cocoa (100% Cacao)
  • 1 packet of Stevia

*While I did not top my bowl with anything (it didn’t need much more!)  toppings you may enjoy include  chopped walnuts, chopped pecans, sliced strawberries, etc.

This bowl was incredibly delicious, chocolaty, and satisfying.  Dessert for breakfast, and it’s healthy? Yes, please. :) ,

A sliced banana sprinkled with some cinnamon with a 1/2 tablespoon of natural almond butter

and a mug of mocha mint coffee with a splash of unsweetened vanilla almond milk and a 1/2 packet of Stevia rounded out this balanced meal and kept me full, energized, and dreaming of it all morning long. :)

Have a great night friends! :)

Awesome. Love any recipe with the use of oats. Do you calculate nutrition facts or kinda just go with the flow?

Thanks Chris! There are a few under the, “Recipes,” tab, and there are at least a dozen more coming that I’ve been working on. I do calculate sometimes. Not for myself, but for any followers or clients. :)
